That’s right. They’re asking for it, this time.
U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley says North Korea’s actions show that its leader, Kim Jong Un, is “begging for war,” and the time has come for the Security Council to adopt the strongest diplomatic measures.
Haley told an emergency session of the Security Council on Monday that “Enough is enough. War is never something the United States wants. We don’t want it now. But our country’s patience is not unlimited.”
If there is one thing Americans hate more than Confederate statues and hetero-normative monogamous relationships, it’s war. The fact that America has been at war for not only the entirety of my own life, but my father’s as well, is just a fun coincidence.
The emergency session comes after North Korea detonated what it called a hydrogen bomb on Sunday. It also comes less than a week after the council strongly condemned the North’s “outrageous” launch of a ballistic missile over Japan.
Something tells me that Korea’s military posturing is not an attempt to gain sempai’s attention in the hopes that we will bomb them into rice flour. In fact, it might have more to do with the recent destruction of Libya and Iraq, as both countries kowtowed to American and UN demands before finally getting obliterated and delivered to Islamic State on a silver platter.
Naturally, there is no humane way for America to win an Islamic State stronghold in North Korea. Regardless, the North Korean military are not taking any chances.
What is truly incredible is that North Koreans, who lack a stable internet connection, are likely more aware of the inherent dangers of appeasement to American threats of disarmament than even Americans are.
It’s almost as if both countries are in the business of propagandizing their citizens with either a lack of media sources or an excess of useless media talking heads all repeating the same cliched party line. It’s a real Orwell vs. Huxley situation. Only now, the Party has nukes.
For all the negative press North Korea gets, it is important to remember what they are fighting for. Namely, I would assume, the complete eradication of Korean culture to be replaced by the “Western” world’s penchant for pimping out young girls to agents who sexualize and enslave them, just as the Disney Channel has done to countless young American women.
Muh progressive values.
