Harvey Weinstein, Hollywood Abused Us All

Harvey Weinstein, powerful film producer and former studio executive, has been outed as a serial rapist, sexual predator, and all around slimy sack of shit. I wish I could say this news is surprising.

From Fox News (linked above):

Thirteen more women have come forward with allegations of rape and sexual harassment against disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein.

Three of the women who spoke with Farrow said Weinstein raped them. Four more women said they experienced unwanted touching and four others said Weinstein masturbated in front of them or exposed himself.

Current and former Weinstein Company employees admitted to the New Yorker many at the company knew of Weinstein’s behavior towards women and said some employees acted as “honeypot[s]” to attract women to meetings with Weinstein only to leave the women alone with the producer.

Another woman, Lucia Evans, alleged Weinstein forced her to perform oral sex on him in 2004. Evans was an aspiring actress at the time and had heard rumors about Weinstein’s behavior but agreed to meet him at Miramax’s New York office after she was told a female casting agent would be present.

There are several takeaways from this story.

For one, the many actors and actresses that are feigning disbelief at the recent revelations are clearly lying. Selling your body to win a shot at making it in Hollywood has already been exposed by those in the industry. Many of the women who were “raped” by Weinstein probably viewed the arrangement as a way to advance their fledgling careers as actresses. Many of them likely found the arrangement beneficial, at least at first.

This in no means downplays the sexual depravity of Harvey Weinstein or those of his ilk, which probably includes most of the power players in Hollywood. It is, however, to point out that the many of the “abused” were likely making a strategic career move at the time. In that regard, the depravity that encapsulates the Harvey Weinstein abuse saga is shared among predator and victim.

And people wonder why there are not more “conservative” types in Hollywood. Go figure.

The second, more important point is this. Just as producers like Harvey Weinstein pimp women with the (perhaps unspoken) promise of a “big break,” nearly everyone involved in Hollywood is actively engaged in pimping you, your family, and your way of life.

Whether it is Nickelodeon employing pornographers to acclimate your children to cuckoldry or Netflix sexualizing children in an “adult” cartoon, conservatives are asked to passively acquiesce the destruction of all that is pure. To get with the times.

As such, what sick people have done to Miley Cyrus and other child stars is being done to your son, your daughter.

#BoycottHollywood

The NFL boycott has proven that we can find something better to do than hand over hard-earned money to people that relish in the destruction of our culture. That see whites and conservatives as a plague and a commodity.

Hollywood is already suffering as ticket sales dry up. As people tune out for award shows. As powerful executives are exposed as rapists.

Now it is time to watch it die.

Want an alternative to Hollywood? Why not explore the cinema of other countries. Unlike the Hollywood elite, Korean films portray rural people not as backwood hicks, but as human beings with their own unique culture and dreams. In fact, I find more “quintessentially American” concepts in Korean films than in American ones.

There is an obvious reason for this, but I am not going to state it. However, it is the same reason Harvey Weinstein felt no remorse in his dealings with vulnerable women looking for work. It is the same reason that Hollywood films have become overtly antagonistic to the people that voted for Trump. It is the reason you are portrayed as an inbred redneck on the silver screen.

You, like Harvey Weinstein’s victims, have been made to identify with your attacker. To idolize him and those like him as a God, even as he openly shows contempt for all that you stand for.

Nobody is forcing you to be a prisoner.
